Food Service

My School Bucks

The Mattituck-Cutchogue UFSD has adopted an exciting way of providing our students and staff with a simple and efficient way to increase the level of service and accuracy within our school lunch program. The system is called “NUTRIKIDS® POS System.” POS meaning (Point of Sale) is a computerized system designed for tracking not only account information but also food selections made by each customer. This system will eliminate the need to send checks to school or worry about lost or forgotten lunch money, and speeds up serving lines in the cafeteria. Additionally, parents will have the ability to track the nutritional value of your child’s lunch choices.

How Does The Program Work?

All student lunch and snack sales will be linked to the student account represented by the student’s name, student ID number and a picture that will be present on the cashier’s check out screen identifying that the individual purchasing is in fact the account holder. Students will be issued a student ID card and number for use with the POS system.

The purchase may be made with cash, a cash or check prepayment or the new prepayment service described on the attached “mySchoolBucks.com” instructional guide. Check prepayments are accepted and encouraged. When sending in money by check or cash, please include the student’s ID number on the check or envelope so it is deposited into the correct account. Please make check payable to the Mattituck-Cutchogue UFSD and place your child(s) ID number(s) on the check. The funds will be applied to the student account.

Whether paying by cash or pre-payment option, every student lunch or snack sale will require that the student use their ID #. Students can access their accounts by entering their id # on a pin-pad, scanning their id card or providing the cashier with their name.

If your child has qualified for free or reduced meal prices, this information is securely and confidentially maintained in the system, and the meal will be processed just as it is for all other students without any special indication to the students. You will need to fill out a new free/reduced application for this school year. Please do so as soon as possible.

If you have any questions regarding your payments, please don't hesitate to call MySchoolBucks at 1.800.724.9853 option 5 for POS support.

If you are interested in pre-payment, please visit https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ a state-of-the-art online service that offers you the convenience and information you need to manage your child’s meal account.

MySchoolBucks.com allows any family to:

  • Create a free, secured account to manage all of your accounts.
  • Check your child’s current account balance.
  • Monitor the items your child has been purchasing in the cafeteria.
  • Create settings to receive email notifications when the account reaches a low balance.

By having money in each child’s account prior to entering the cafeteria, we find the lunch lines move along much faster so your child has more time to eat and be with friends.

Also, with MySchoolBucks.com parents will have the ability to print out a copy of their child’s food purchase history report. This history report will show you all dates and times that your child has purchased a lunch within the past thirty days. This program has the potential to stimulate discussion with your kids about healthy food choices, a healthy lifestyle or even shared planning of the menu choices while at school.

Things To Know:

  • If you have more than one child in the District you can handle all online prepayments from the same online account.
  • Payments may be made through an existing PayPal account or with a major credit or debit card.
  • In order to use the online prepayment service, a small convenience fee for each transaction will be assessed. The convenience fee is $1.95 per deposit transaction. Parents placing money into multiple meal accounts will only be assessed the $1.95 fee once per deposit transaction. The Mattituck-Cutchogue UFSD does not profit from the use of this site. To offset the cost of this convenience fee, the District Food Service Department will provide one FREE meal for your son or daughter for every $25 you put on their account. For example, a purchase of $25 dollars will be charged a convenience fee of $1.95, but in return you will receive one free meal.
